Secondary containment for serious infectious disease research — designed for the consequences of agent failure, not a generic standard.
El mercado en detalle
Biological containment facilities are among the technically most complex controlled environments in any sector. BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories require primary containment equipment, secondary containment architecture, airflow management and decontamination infrastructure integrated and validated as a single system. We design containment laboratories where every specification is derived from the failure mode consequences of the contained agent.
BSL-3 scope: dedicated HVAC with HEPA filtration on exhaust, effluent decontamination where the agent requires it, physical security measures appropriate to the risk group. WHO Biosafety Manual 4th ed. (2020), Directive 2000/54/EC, ISO 35001:2019+A1:2024. Commissioning documentation supporting competent authority inspection and institutional biosafety committee review.
